NIGERIA’S COVID-19 CASES NOW ABOVE 4,000 WITH 239 NEW INFECTIONS RECORDED
Over 4,000 people have now
been confirmed with the Coronavirus in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease
Control (NCDC) has announced.
The Centre gave this new
figure on Saturday night when it confirmed 286 new cases of the deadly virus,
bringing the total number in the country to 4,151.
NCDC
announced via its verified twitter handle, @NCDCgov that the states with
the highest number of cases are Lagos, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina and Borno with 97,
44, 29, 19 and 17, respectively.
Fourteen states and the
FCT are responsible for the new infections, while 745 have recovered and have
been discharged. The Centre put the number of deaths at 128.
