ATIKU STATES STAND ON RUGA

Former President Atiku Abubakar has broken his silence on the vexed issue of RUGA which has continued to dominate public discourse.
Earlier in the week, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, had asked Atiku to state where he stood on the issue.
“I have three questions for Atiku,” he posted on his twitter handle @realFFK.
“1. What is your position on RUGA?
2. Why have you not said one word about it?
3. What is your position on the threat and 30-day ultimatum made by Arewa youths against southerners?"

In his response, Atiku was evasive in giving straightforward answers. Here’s what he said in his response:
“My position on Ruga is the same as articulated by the Governors elected under the banner of my party, the PDP. My position has been well iterated by our Governors and the PDP is one."
On what he has to say about the threat and 30-day ultimatum made by Arewa youths to sack southerners from the North if the federal government does not rescind its decision to reverse the suspension of RUGA, Atiku said: “I will not dignify that threat with a response. There is no North or South. There is just Nigeria.”
However, some respondents sought to know what his statement meant by his position on Ruga being the same as articulated by the Governors elected under the banner of PDP? According to them, if Bauchi, Sokoto, Adamawa, Taraba, Zamfara and Bayelsa states are PDP states, all of which have embraced RUGA, does it presuppose that he supports RUGA?
No response had come from him as at the time of filing this report.
