IN OWERRI, RAIN STORM DESTROYS PUBLIC BUILDINGS SLATED FOR COMMISSIONING BY VP OSINBAJO
Reports have it that public buildings constructed by the Rochas Okorocha administration and slated for commissioning by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have be brought down by an overnight rain storm.
The buildings, according to information available to us, include, the Owerri City School, Heroes Square, and Freedom Square. The Secondary and Primary Schools, for instance, both have their roofing and skeletal works blown off, raising speculations, which some residents believe may have been caused by a rage of the gods. Happily, no casualties have been reported.
Some newly expanded roads in the metropolis have also been affected as floods lay bare the asphalts used on the construction works.
In addition, the iron works and street poles, including a number of billboards bearing either Governor Rochas Okorocha or his Son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, have been pulled down by the rampaging storm.
There are insinuations that the materials used may have been substandard.
Meanwhile, no official statement has so far been released by the government as at the time of filing this report.
